PEACH - Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall, Thailand

The month of November was an exciting month for us here at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort & PEACH as we welcomed the 48th Orient & South East Asia Lions Forum (OSEAL 09) delegates. Over 6,000 delegates from various countries in the Asia region were seen attending the official opening of the OSEAL Forum 09 at PEACH. The esteemed delegates were later entertained by the colourful and enchanting Thai cultural performances displayed as part of the opening ceremony.

We were also fortunate to welcome Lions Club International President Mr. Eberhard J. Wirfs and also other top Lions Club International management to the Royal Cliff Beach Resort & PEACH for the prestigious event.

Additionally, we would like to congratulate Mazda Motor Corporation for their launch of Mazda 2 which was held at PEACH for their dealerships from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.

And finally, as the New Year is within reach, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our subscribers a Wonderful Christmas and a Prosperous New Year 2010.

4 November 2009, Mazda launches its’ new Mazda 2 five hatchbacks at PEACH. The New Mazda 2 inherits the fun-to-drive Zoom-Zoom DNA that is common to all Mazda vehicles, offering harmony between sports styling, excellence safety and quality and dynamic performance. Hyped as the world’s best sports car, the Mazda 2’s prestigious accolades include the World Car of the Year award, plus 50 worldwide awards and a maximum 5-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP).

Some 350 Mazda dealers from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia , Philippines and Thailand witnessed the launch of Mazda 2 with the attendance of Mr. Takashi Yamanouchi (President and CEO of Mazda Motor Corporation), Mr. Ataru Kobayashi (General Manager Office of Secretariat) and Mr. Yuji Nakemine (Managing Executive Officer).

The one day event was full of activities, as the press conference held in the morning preceded the exclusive Mazda 2 launch and of course an exciting and colourful gala dinner with vibrant entertainment was held later in the evening for all dealers and press.

19 – 22 November 2009, the 48th Orient & South East Asia Lions (OSEAL) Forum 2009 was held successfully here at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH. This annual event attracted some 6,000 delegates from all over the Asia region -Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Thailand.

One of the events before the OSEAL 09 official opening was a lunch treat which was sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TOT) themed ‘Taste of Thailand’. Delegates were treated with delicacies of Thai favourites such as phad Thai, grilled chicken and not forgetting the range of special Thai desserts. The Taste of Thailand was held at a garden area opposite to PEACH. Delegates could be seen arriving into the resort area from their coaches, flocking to the Taste of Thailand area to experience the unique taste of Thai food.

The opening ceremony of OSEAL 09 was held in PEACH with Lions Club International top management - Mr. Eberhard J. Wirfs (International President), Mr. Al Brandel (Immediate Past International President), Mr. Sid L. Scruggs III (First Vice President), Mr. Wing-Kun Tam (Second Vice President) and other Lions VIP among the attendees.

Khun Somsakdi Lovisuth, Host Chairperson of OSEAL 09 did the honours of opening the OSEAL Forum 09 in front of over 6,000 delegates followed by a grand and energetic Thai cultural performance to the delight of the excited delegates.

The 4 day event saw various activities being held around the Royal Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH. Besides the scheduled meetings, there were also bazaars offering Lions merchandise and also local Thai products including various souvenirs for delegates to take back after the forum.
