Newsletter August 2009

Dear Friends,

PEACH and Royal Cliff Beach Resort are once again proud to be chosen to host yet another important ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) meeting with the 30th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) scheduled to take place on 2nd – 8th August 2009.

Formerly known as AIPO (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Organization), AIPA was formed back in 1977 and renamed AIPA as it transformed from an organization to an assembly in 2007. The one week event is expected to be attended by parliament presidents and parliamentarians from eight member countries and observers from 12 other countries.

Final preparations have been made for this important meeting and we hope the delegates of the 30th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and other observers from various countries participating will enjoy the unique Thai hospitality that PEACH and Royal Cliff Beach Resort have to offer.

We also had the opportunity to host the 3rd Thailand-Indonesia High Level Military Committee (TIHLMC), from 26 July to 1 August 2009. This was an important annual event which was attended by high ranking military officials from both countries to discuss activities which included intelligence, joint exercises, peacekeeping efforts, education and training.

We are also already busy planning events for the coming months, and look forward to hosting the Bangkok Life Insurance from 27th – 30th August, The 6th - SICOT/SIROT Annual International Conference on the 27th October to 2nd November and the 48th Orient & South East Asia Lions (OSEAL) Forum 2009 from 19th to 22nd November at PEACH.

Thank you
