The popular beach resort of Pattaya lies on the eastern seaboard of the Gulf of Thailand which is 120km from Bangkok. This compact city is divided into four major zones: North Pattaya, Central Pattaya, South Pattaya and Jomtien. Pattaya consists of 3 major roads that run parallel to each other.
Right along the beach is Beach road, which is a one–way road from the north to south, approximately a few kilometers long. Second road is a hundred or so meters away and carries city transport mainly from the south to north, although it is partly a two-way road. The last road is Sukhumvit Road, a continuation of the highway leading to Bangkok. Many small streets called Soi(s) cross the roads. It is advisable to walk some of the small streets, which are enumerated from north to south, although some have names. Second road continues on to South Pattaya and turns to Jomtien reaching Jomtien beach within 5 minutes. On the other side of Sukhumvit Road are several country clubs, golf course and typical Thai rural villages, providing charming escapes on the banks of sweet-water lakes and small stream in the leisurely and relaxing countryside. PEACH is located in between Pattaya Bay and Jomtien Beach and offers a fantastic view of the Gulf of Thailand.
Transportation in the city is facilitated through the use of air conditioned taxis, special cars (Song Taew), customized pickup trucks with passenger seats in a covered overhead back cabin. These vehicles can easily carry 8-10 passengers in the back, plus 1 or 2 passengers in the front. In addition to motorbike-taxis, the Song Taews are the only form of public transport permitted in Pattaya. If not occupied, they can also be hired as private taxis. Taxis are everywhere and easy to hail. Once in Pattaya you’ll find the central entertainment area is easily covered on foot, and you’re never too far from Pattaya bay beach or Jomtien when staying in most hotels.
By car
Pattaya is about 120 km away from Bangkok and is a pleasant two hours drive along Sukhumvit Highway via Bang Na, Bang Pakong, Chon Buri and Sri Racha. Driving further to the south of Pattaya one would reach PEACH. You can avoid a lot of traffic on Bang Na–Trat Highway by opting for the Motor Way.
Directions from Bangkok to Pattaya:
- Take the Bangna-Trat Highway To Cholburi (Highway 34, then Highway 3).
- Or from Rama 9 Road (Highway 7, then Highway 3).
- Reaching Cholburi, follow Sukhumvit Road to Pattaya.
- At the intersection to South Pattaya, turn right onto Thep Phrasit Road.
- Turn right at the Jomtien intersection into Jomtien Road.
- At the intersection, turn left into Phra Tamnuk Road and follow the road
- At the police booth, turn left and head for the Royal Cliff Beach Resort signpost.
Minibus and taxi services run from Pattaya hotels and guest houses to Bangkok and other eastern tourist destinations such as Rayong, and to the harbours connecting with the islands of Ko Samet and Ko Chang.
By bus/coach
Coaches regularly leave from the Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai) and the Mochit 2 Bus Terminal on Kamphaeng Phet Road throughout the day. Buses are the cheapest means of arrival and operate frequently from Bangkok and other towns. A constant stream of buses runs from Ekamai (Eastern) Bus Terminal in Bangkok which is located just outside the BTS station of the same name. Services start early in the morning and run until late. The fare is inexpensive and the buses are all air–conditioned and comfortable enough for the two and a half hour journey. This duration will vary from bus to bus as some will make more stops than others. The Northern Bus Terminal (Mo Chit) also runs services throughout the day while many hotels will also arrange private travel. For coach transfers the passenger loading zone is located immediately on the East Entrance of PEACH for the convenience of delegate transfers.
Buses link to all towns along the Eastern Seaboard and onwards to popular destinations including Ban Phe (for Koh Samet), Chantaburi, and Trat (for Koh Chang and Cambodia). These regional bus routes are almost all air–conditioned but usually bypass Pattaya's central area so you'll have to get to one of the bus stops on Sukhumvit Road (Thanon Sukhumvit) in order to catch a service.
By train
The State Railway of Thailand offers daily train services departing Bangkok's Hualumpong Station throughout the day. No advance ticketing is available by the State Railway of Thailand, so passengers who wish to travel to/from Pattaya by train have to purchase the ticket on the travel dates.
By air
Pattaya's closest airport is U–Tapao Pattaya International Airport located 30km south–east of the city operating daily flights to the southern islands of Ko Samui, and Phuket with Bangkok Airways. U-Tapao is also suitable for private and chartered flights by all aircraft models available. THB 995 million (US$29.5 million) was recently granted to U–Tapao Pattaya International airport for renovations which include a new passenger terminal, improved taxiways, fuel depots, firefighting systems, X-Ray machines and cargo units. The new passenger terminal will be nearly four times the size of the existing one and will be capable of handling 1500 passengers per hour, compared to 400 now. The current single terminal covering 2,610 square meters will be used for military, VIP and private planes. For all other domestic and international flights, Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok can be reached by bus connections or by private taxi. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport is roughly an hour drive away from Pattaya.
PEACH offers guests the facility of arriving by helicopter. There are two fully licensed helicopter pads located at PEACH and Royal Cliff Grand Hotel and Spa. Delegates wishing to arrive by helicopter are asked to advise us in advance of an arrival and departure time.

The other alternative for delegates is to park their vehicle at the Royal Cliff Beach Resort. This is only a few minutes walk to PEACH.
Both car parks are fitted with video surveillance camera systems and security officers patrol these areas on a 24 hours basis including weekends. The parking at both Royal Cliff Beach Resort and PEACH is free of charge.
