It has been over a week since I returned from the Royal Cliff Beach Hotel. Although the ASEAN Summits held there were unfortunately disrupted and had to be cancelled, I wish to express my appreciation to you and your staff for the commitment to excellence which was apparent in all aspects of your service and facilities.

As Director General of the Information Department, tasked by the government to facilitate the work of the press, I can say without hesitation that the Royal Cliff Hotels Group is truly world-class in every way. I was particularly impressed by the attentiveness and professionalism of your staff at every level. They went the extra mile not only to meet, but actually surpass our expectations. Likewise, the Pattaya Exhibition and Convention Hall (PEACH) was everything we could wish for, whether in terms of architecture and physical layout, the comprehensiveness of the facilities, or the convenience of the location. All of this made it pleasant and easy for us to set up and efficiently run the Press Centre, accommodating members of the media from all over the world.

I have no doubt that the foreign delegations attending the Summits were similarly impressed with the Thai hospitality and service that you and your staff represented so admirably. This was a challenging event: ICCA’s largest ever event with delegates from more countries than ever before, and extremely high expectations from our delegates who all work in the meeting business.

I can honestly say that I have never experienced so many positive comments from delegates during an event about the standard of service they were experiencing. Everyone spoke enthusiastically about the genuine smiles of welcome by all staff in PEACH and the Royal Cliff. Numerous examples were given of how your team helped with problem and answered any requests for help.

On a professional level, the service standards were top class, especially with regard to the catering events which were amongst the best that ICCA has ever experienced.

PEACH and the Royal Cliff are truly a wonderful combination for a major international event.

There is no doubt that the local Organising Committee did a fantastic job, however, I know that their work was made so much easier by the tremendous organization at the Royal Cliff Hotels Group. The great organization certainly made our job much easier and the reaction we have received from those who attended the Congress has been very positive indeed.

From the tremendous service in the restaurants to the front of house staff and those who helped us with all the meeting arrangements, all of them were both efficient and courteous. The house-keeping staff also went out of their way to ensure that we were looked after incredibly well.

ICCA - International Congress & Convention Association

ICCA is one of the most prominent organisations in the world for international meetings. Founded in 1963, ICCA represents the main specialists in handling, transporting and accommodating international events and comprises over 800 member companies and organisations in 80 countries worldwide. Headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands and first founded by a group of travel agents, their first and foremost aim was to evaluate practical ways to get the travel industry involved in the rapidly expanding market of international meetings and to exchange actual information related to their operations in this market. With the rapid expansion of the meetings industry, representatives from various sectors of the meetings industry, aside from travel agents, applied for ICCA membership.

PEACH has been a member of ICCA since its inception year in 1999.


ICCA - International Congress & Convention Association
TCEB – Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau

The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is Thailand’s one-stop centre for MICE activities, operating as the country’s official destination marketing organisation in relations to business events.  Its focus is directed towards introducing and promoting potential buyers to Thai products and services and securing future MICE businesses through the presentation of formal bids prepared by TCEB.

It is the Government’s intention to make Thailand a “top-of-mind” MICE destination in this region and to encourage more active participation from local associations through the bids done to be ‘host’ country for major conventions and congresses. 

Amongst TCEB’s other roles and responsibilities include providing business leads for the industry, organising cooperative promotions, independent production of high quality destination materials, providing networking and educational opportunities, technical assistance, training and industry development as well as strategies for product development and improvement.

PEACH has been a member of TCEB since 1999.

TEA – Trade Exhibition Association

The Thai Exhibition Association (TEA) is the association of exhibition related business of exhibition organizers, exhibition centres, exhibition stand contractors, freight forwarders and related suppliers dedicated to the promotion and development of exhibitions in Thailand.

The Thai Exhibition Association was founded in accordance with the Trade Association Act of 1996, under the supervision of the Trade Association Registrar Office, Bangkok Metropolitan in the year 2007. Among the objectives of the Association are to promote the Association, and the operation and servicing of national and international exhibitions for exhibitors and visitors; to earn revenue for the country by promoting Thailand as a location for national and international exhibitions; to promote international standards of facilities and services for exhibitors; and to strengthen the relationship among members by exchanging information and ideas related to national and international trade exhibitions; to cooperate with the government and the private sector, e.g. organizations, associations, companies and individuals which the Association considers beneficial to our Association.

PEACH became a member of TEA in 2008.

A subsidiary of TCEB the Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) is an industry body formed by the Thai government and the private sector and that is fully committed to serving decision-makers, organisers and planners to the highest levels at all times throughout the process of conceiving an event through to its completion. Established in 1984, this non-profit organization aims to develop Thailand as a preferred destination for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions.

PEACH has been a member of TICA since 1999.

Formed over 50 years ago with headquarters in Bangkok, PATA is a global organisation with over 2,500 members comprising 42 Member Destinations and their Airlines, Hotel Groups, Tour Operators and Travel Agents. 

PATA is the leader, advocate and catalyst for developing Asia Pacific’s travel and tourism industry.

Royal Cliff Hotels Group has been a member of PATA for over 30 years.

TAT – Tourism Authority of Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand was established on the 18th March 1960. TAT was the first organization in Thailand to be specifically responsible for the promotion of tourism. 
 
TAT supplies information and data on tourist areas to the public, publicizes Thailand with the intention of encouraging both Thai and international tourists to travel in and around Thailand, conducts studies to set development plans for tourist destinations, and co-operates with and supports the production and development of personnel in the field of tourism. 
 
Since the inception of the first local office of TAT in Chiang Mai in 1968, there are now 22 regional offices throughout Thailand. TAT has also established many overseas offices the first being in New York, which was opened in 1965. During the past 30 years, TAT has since established 15 more offices in different parts of the world.

Royal Cliff Hotels Group has been a member of TAT since 1974.

THA – Thai Hotels Association

Founded on February 6, 1963 the Thai Hotels Association (THA) was formerly known as the "Thai Hotels Association for Tourists". It was rename the Thai Hotels Association in 1968, composed of leading hotels representing every part of Thailand. All Association Ordinary Member have been approved by the Ministry of Interior. The Association has thus been in existence for over 30 years. To serve arriving tourists in finding suitable accommodation on their first step into the country, THA has set up two counters at Don Muang International Airport's arrival lounge and Domestic Airport's departure lounge.

Royal Cliff Hotels Group became a member of THA in 1974.
